05 rxp headache part 2....
We'll I pulled the sc and the bearings were trashed. The fly wheel gear teeth looked good the sc gear looked good also. I did find gray super fine ground up sc rotor/housing in the discharge pipe, and some metal in the oil filter not a lot just a couple of real small specks. I would like some input on where too go from here. I am thinking about pulling the motor and pulling off the bearing caps for inspection. And is there any other hidden stuff I need to know about on these 4 techs with blown sc. Thanx

Inspect/replace the Timing chain,Check all your flywheel teeth,oil pumps,SCer Fan(she touched down so it will need to be replaced)replace all your bolts,check the oil screens in the PTO cover and make sure you flush the PTO and engine oil gallies out real well...

How do I get the drive shaft out? I think pulling the motor is straight forward drive shaft ,cables,wireing, and exhaust. Dose that sound about right? Thanx

If its out and apart, I would replace the following...
- new valves
- flywheel bolts
- oil restrictor

04-05's came factory with weak Valves(prone to rusting, and breaking), and Flywheel bolts. The 06'+ ones are the good ones for all of it.
U could also upgrade the SC oil sprayer to 08+ specs while the PTO cover is off. It helps to keep the clutches, and bearings lubed better than previous years.

How hard is pulling the motor? If the bottom end bearings are ok I will change out the fly wheel bolts and oil pick up screens. I don't really want too get into the head.

Dont forget that timing chain...it can be the death of your motor if it got damaged and you re-use it...
