98 XPL - Brand New Wear Ring!!??!
Can anyone tell me me what the heck is wrong with this new wear ring??? I just put it on and as I am bolting it back up I noticed the huge gap between the impeller.. It looks worse than the one that came out of it. Using WSM OE #271-000-653 / 271-000-904 off of Atlantic Jet Sport(SKU: 003-503). Is the prop just really worn? I really don't want to get this thing in the water and look like a damn paddle-boat

Use only OEM bombardier liners, the rest are crap,sorry.

I suppose, but how do you mess it up that bad?! I ordered a new prop (Solas Concord 15/20). If there is still a gap, I'll have to pick up an OEM one.

My XPL98 has cavitation problems (shoe seal apparently) and I've changed 3 wear-rings in the process of trying to find the source of the problem - this was not helped by the the last two being WSM 'same refs nos as yours) and the gap is enormous - nearly 2mm with my solas 15/20 - I'm going back to original SeaDoo rings no question.

Yeah I just placed an order for an OEM one.
I plan on sealing the shoe as well.. After reading through your thread... I want to say that this has been contributing to your issue.

Yes think you're right there.
I'm going to do one last test with a new original SeaDoo wear-ring before I pull the shoe. But with the WSM ring I was never getting the max speed that I should have had with my set-up and am pretty sure that the WSM ring was not helping
