2007 Yamaha VX-110 Deluxe: Help Needed
I am looking locally at a one owner, 2007 Yamaha VX110 Deluxe with 149 hours for $4200 cash. I spoke in length with the owner (nice guy, early 50's) who says they had it serviced from a local dealer since day one. This particular ski will be for my wife and daughter.
Does anyone have any opinions on this year? Notorious problems to look for, etc?Last edited by Ski Hacks MG; 12-13-2014 at 11:48 AM.

This is probably the most reliable and dependable wave runner on the market today. Rental companies abuse them for thousands of hours with very little service and they stand the test of time.
Go for it, Julio...

We bought a 2008 last year and couldn't be happier with it. No, it's not a super high performance machine but as a companion to a boat and as a toy it's hard to beat the fun factor for the cost and fuel use. Even with dealer service, it'd be great if you could inspect the air filter for signs of oil overfill, as it's easy to do and will foul the $80 Yamaha air filter and cost performance too. Also, the plugs foul easily in the MR-1, especially in the VX application. The only real expensive repair the things have a reputation for is a leak around the thru-hull fittings for the pump.
I threw an R&D air filter in the stock air box and replaced the intake grate with the R&D scoop grate and a pump plug kit and its like a different ski now. Turns don't slow the ski to a crawl and the 0-30 is just past 2.5 sec on glass. The bang for your buck factor here is super hard to beat!
