Although I didn't have near the drive,I had a very similar experience with my trailer. It was covered in scratches, even had RUST showing in a couple places. It was horrible. I was inspecting it in the parking lot before I went in to finalize the deal and the salesmen came out and asked what I thought. I said the ski looks great! Now take a look at this trailer and let me know what you think. He said ohh, yea they all come that way from shipping. So I went over the stack of trailers, and he wasn't completely full of $HI!. Most did have some scratches, but none with rust. I picked one off the top that was perfect, and said be sure not to scratch it getting it down and setup.... Had to come back the next day to get it as all of the porters had gone home.

let the salesperson who is making the comission know up front about the conditions of the sale. NEW means NEW. Suggest that he toss $20 of his commission to the shop "boy" to make sure it's perfect..or you'll have words when you arrive and will be asking for hundreds in gimmees

Yes I agree new is new I am not acepting a new ride with scratches and unkept. makes you wonder what things will be like if you need a repair or service. same attention to detail. and yes I think they sholud hook you up with some compensation. $$$$$$$

I didnt see mention of ext warranty. As compensation I would ask for 2 add'l years (and settle on one year).

Move on. If that's how the dealership takes pride in presenting a brand new product to their customers then they don't deserve your business.

You're not asking too much. The buyer should be the one allowed to put the first 'idiot scratch' on his/her new toy.

I bought a brand new GMC pick-up last June , at a GM dealership.
I drove the salesman crazy but i spent 1/2 hour going over/ under that truck & it was perfect...not a scratch or mark anywhere.

brand new is brand new ...period!

put your complaint in writing to the owner of dealership , immediately...asking them for a written response asap.
    Pete.

Yep...and buying brand new...you're already going to suffer a huge amount of depreciation as soon as you drive off the lot with it...it might as well not be depreciated any more with scratches and shit. Bastards! Grrr.

They need to compensate you for your time and expenses for a wasted trip...
Get what's yours but be nice but firm with your requests..
You are the customer and you are always right!!!!!
