Ask to inspect the old sensor. Polaris has an update kit (2202780) that adds a rubber bumper to protect the exhaust heat sensor on the MSX 140 from being squished between the two exhaust pipes.

BryanP added one to his MSX 140 earlier this year, and posted the Polaris kit part number more recently.

The kit is really straightforward so the same result could be had by installing a rubber spacer or washer of roughly the same thickness, along with a longer bolt and an o-ring.

Glad to hear it worked out.

Did the rubber bumper update kit get installed to protect the new sensor from repeat damage?
