Also how similiar are the 1200 and 785 pipes? Would the 785 pipes and waterbox fit on the 1200 and vice versa?
Pipes and water box completely different. Not interchangeable.
Dang! Looking at picking up my first Pro in a 1200 and the 785 pipes are cheap. =/

Any updates to this project? Curious how the 1200 runs with triple pipes.

not exactly true, the waterbox from the 785 can be used if you cut the reducer off the 1200 triple pipes tube that feeds the waterbox.thats the way my pro was when i sold it.not worth it unless you spininng say 7600-7700 rpm with the 1200

Well the time has come to revisit this project and finally get the pipes installed. Any tips and/tricks I need to know about before I tear into it? Hoping to hit it hot and heavy this weekend.

when you epoxy the lord mount bases into the hull have the lord mounts screwed into the bases to prevent the epoxy from coming up into the bases.

Old exhaust is out and ready to install new. That fuel tank sure is a PITA. Noticed there was a temp sensor in the old exhaust manifold. Is there a place to relocate this sensor with the new pipes, or do I end up not using the temp sensor?

    Darrin!!!!

What is up? You are finally going to do it? You don't use the temp sensor when going to triple pipes. You can just up plug the sensor and remove it on the pro 1200. Zip tie the harness out of the way.

Take your time and a old hacksaw blade and a propane torch to heat the blade and melt foam so you can remove it. Glove and be safe with the heat. Figure on the whole day if you never done one before. Take breaks but NO drinking! Good Luck!
