Mine was out of the exhaust flow also, the tip did not protrude from the hole in the manifold. I guess we will see how they read afr's.

What is the trick to get the water box strap back on. Do I need to remove the panel that the back of the seal sits on? This is a 2012 bike.

Any update on whether it reads AFR correctly?

im just about to do this on a 2012 PX, but am wondering if the R&D o2 adaptor is a better way?

Many people running this setup for years. With the sensor being so close to the head and the back pressure in the system should not be an issue.
Would love to see if anyone has seen any difference in readings by changing sensor location/ setup?

    Don't bother with the R&D O2 adapter.

It will read just fine in the exhaust manifold.

I just installed an O2 sensor on a 2010RXT-X260. I was worried I might damage the manifold but it went OK. I saw Pics of the manifold "C" clamped but I was afraid I might crack the manifold. I found a piece of aluminum plate that I drilled to mount to the manifold and then clamped the aluminum plate in the mill. I bought the Riva install kit. The directions could be better. The location of the hole is vague because they measure it off the milled edge which varies depending how much you do or don't mill. They say to countersink the hole but they don't say what angle or how deep (I have 82, 90 & 100 degree countersinks) I was worried about tapping the hole straight. I found I could put the tap in the mill chuck and then turn the chuck by hand, This kept the tap perfectly straight.

    Fine work.
I will do it next week.
But it is to late now to order the Riva Instsallation Kit.
Friend of mine is a toolmaker, I think he have everything what we need.
    The thread is a M18x1,5 (metric) ?
And later with the sensor or block-off-screw you dont use a copper washer?
For the block-off-screw I can use a stainless steal screw - or not?
The water ellbow must set back in with some kind of loctite?

The drill bit in the Rive kit says 41/64.
    41/64 = .640625 = 16.271875mm
Tap charts say 16.5mm drill for a M18x1.5 tap (yes metric)
Block-off screw -I don't remember what came in the kit but you can't go wrong with stainless. I've left the O2 sensor in so far.
I don't remember if I put anything on the water fitting. I might have used Teflon tape.
    Good luck, Ed.
