Cani get rid of the water/gas separator?

You know the little water/gas separator that is above the fuel tank near the steering column. I wanna get rid of it because I just put a BOV there and need the space. Does this serve any major purpose. 50 hrs of riding and removed the cap and not a drip of water. If I remove it will it affect anything and how do I remove it

Why not just relocate it? What's it going to hurt?

Essentially, yes you can remove it altogether but you run the risk of one day getting moisture in your fuel tank. This would really only happen if your constantly riding in extremely rough waters though! As Scrambler said, why not just move it aside somewhere. Whatever this BOV thing is you installed cant be that big there is no room left!
