couple of things....
originally being from new York, I revel in the fact that I can drive 75mph on a two lane smooth bit of divided blacktop for over 200 miles and not pay a single dime in tolls..so yes, we have freeways ( not in the California sense) In the great state of texas, the allow private firms to build expressways and charge to use em. Nice.
my daily toll bill for my 100 mile round trip when I worked in high tech was $26.(circa 2006)
In answer to your question..simple
get up earlier, have breakfast at dennys!
last time I looked, a coffee spill wasn't a warranty issue anyway.
To get a peek at my inner self, you should watch "my cousin vinny", then an afternoon with "transporter"

I agree with you that some people are advertising skis at inflated prices. I think what I find funny is that you guys take such umbrage with it. Its probably a good thing for the forum, however. Better to vent on craigslist ads than rip each other over who has faster or better ski!
Some phone contracts require you to buy new phone if you drop it in liquid. There is a special water sensor so they know. Other contracts will replace even if water damage was user error. In my hypothetical, I asked you to assume that in addition to everything else that went wrong, your $400 smart phone is now toast. Would that not tick you off?
The guy that played in My Cousin Vinnie, remember him Good Fellas? Imagine spilling coffee on that dude's smart phone.

it takes a whole bunch of really bad stuff to make me angry these days..far different when I was in bumper to bumper every day..I figure I added at least ten years to my life by getting rid of the daily adrenalin surge
I can't actually remember the last time I got angry.. oh wait..yes I do
when that deadbeat gal wrote me a rubber check a couple of seasons ago for over $400 on my birthday! ..and then lied like a rug as to why the check wasn't clearing.
I eventually got her..and in the meantime I had redeposited the check three times ( $5 bounce fee to me..but $35 to her) Would have loved to see her face when she found out I had gotten the check in right after she made a sizeable deposit.
So..I amuse you..like a clown?..come over here..I got something to show you....
yeah a no fault cell contract is sweet..when my "rugged" phone cracked like an egg, I just said "^%$%" and found a replacement on ebay the next day. Verzion wanted more for the front glass then I paid for the entire phone
I don't recall anybody every getting into here over who has a faster ski or who was a better mechanic or whatever..just a bunch of good ole boys and gals.
yeah we rip on craigslist..I get the same jollies when people come to the shop and try to sell me something.
If you were locked in a bomb shelter for 5 years what movies would you have on hand?
MCV and goodfellas are on my list..that's kinda where I grew up. Toss in a little Bronx Tale for good measure.
Now I came across a 98 gsx Seadoo today..no trailer, converted to premix "new wear ring" and carbs "rebuilt" ( I know who converts perfectly good running skis to premix around these parts)
DOUBLE the book value was the ask price..maybe if it came with a $1000 gas card somebody would pay that, but taking half his asking makes him a "good fella" and the buyer thinks he got "some deal"
It didn't make this list as the owner made no outrageous claims like "race bred blueprinted microplated unobtainum 4/40 prop" and a confirmed GPS speed of 79 mph --maybe running down the highway on his ski dolly(not included)

No, not like a clown, but you gotta see there is some humor in this.
Joe Pesci. Thats the guy. New York to New Mexico. Wow, thats a change that sounds to have worked well. Your own PWC shop, thats great too. I have snow skiied in NM but never j skiied.
If I was going to be locked in bomb shelter for 5 years I would worry first about who else will be there, where is my bunk and can we log onto Greenhulk? Food and water and then movies.

shhhh..don't be spillin about our 12,000 foot ski mountain in our own little version of aspen.
Ruiodoso is a wonderful little village. had I stopped there first, I might have been running a snowmobile shop. As it turned out once I saw the elephant butte lake, I knew what I'd be doing when I (semi) retired here.(mainly lots of fishing and exploring)
Should really call it the "accidental" jetski shop..I only started the shop when the only other shop in the county suddenly closed up one summer..long story short, We had invested in a property that wasn't renting..so my wife, who was tired of me golfing (we have a PGA class golf course nearby) and fishing all the time, and who knew about my stint at the Kawasaki dealer in Miami ( pre-andrew) said "why not fix jetskis down there?..at least it would pay the expenses of that property. Our new friends here, most of whom had skis were all for it and helped me jump start the business in late 2007.

great food..racetrack/casino and mount blanca?
the only issue for most is that it isn't an easy place to get to.
The mountain is beautiful.
ok..maybe aspenizing it was a stretch..but it's affordable and the skiing is good

How 'bout a 32 year old 'seaworthy Ski Boat' with what appears to be a duct tape covered hole in the side for only $4000?
