OPAS Block-offs
I hear a lot about RIVA's pro-series O.P.A.S. block-offs, and I was wondering if they were worth the $300 price tag.
I know they help reduce the RXP's porposing problem and improve handling, but by how much? How big were the differences? Was the top speed of the craft more maintainable?
Add anything else that you noted when using these too. Thanks.

They are cheaper if you buy them from Richard (way2fast) here on the forum.
They are worth every penny and do help out considerably with porpoising.

Porpoising is the front of your ski bouncing at high speed. This has proven to be a problem with the RXP hull when pushed above 74 mph.

Well in a way they do because if you start to porpoise you will lose speed.

Is there anyway in hell that these things will fit on the RXT/GTX hull? I'd hate to go get another 12 pack and make them.

Pick up another 12 pack and make them because they will not fit properly.

The main thing that I want to know is if the block-offs reduce drag at all.
This summer while racing some stock GP1300R's I noticed that they were keeping up with me, even though their top speeds were about 2-3mph slower than mine on the same GPS. While racing them, I noticed that I would loose my lead and even fall behind them whenever I porposed and came back down. Now I know that porposing slows you down, but I was getting irritated because they were porposing too, but weren't loosing as much speed as I was. I couldn't help but think that the OPAS(idiot-proofing) fins had something to do with this.
I hear that the OPAS fins slow you down even more when you porpose by increasing drag at the rear of the hull when you come back down into the water.
Is this true? Did you notice a more "maintainable" top speed with the pro-series block-offs on?
