    Carbon Fiber GSX 4-Tec

In for the build. The build looks to be a blast and should rip the same, glad you’re back at it

Sat at the paint shop for 2 weeks, nothing done...
But it gave me time to clean up the garage and get ready to bring it home so I can keep moving forward.
We've got construction going on at the main shop and it kept getting moved (hidden.)
Also had to switch gears to get the P1 boat prepped.
Yeah Mike, the engine is still in the living room...Click image for larger version.

This has been the slowest project I've ever wanted to try.
    Priorities...

It's back in my home garage, all the other boats and engines made it out to havasu, time look at the CFGSXL4-TEC again.
And have to come up with a better name for it.

Set a block in it tonight to see how much I'm going to have to cut and paste.

There's more room in here than in the RXP.Click image for larger version.

I inherited another boat today. I was hoping to be able to scavenge a few parts for the CF-4.

    Anyway,

The 4-tec rear mounts sit 3" wider than the 951. The 1.5" I need on each side is challenge #1.
I think a plate with studs and filling the void outboard of the stringer should give me the space and strength I need.

Front mount shouldn't be a problem, fab. one bracket to span the stringers.Click image for larger version.

Good news bad news kind of night.
I threw the dead 215 cases, head & intake to see what access would be like.
There's tons of room in this hull

Except where I really need it.

Going to have to cut the stringer to let the engine sit low enough.

    Kinda.
The bottom mounts for the oil cooler are resting on the stringer. It's got the engine sitting at a bad angle. Going to start with making room for the cooler. That should give it enough room to rotate into position to let the pan clear.
