Ooops something broke!
I was out today for about 10 minutes and at WOT i heard a loud screech and the ski just stopped. I putted back to shore and started it on the trailer and heard squealing. I just pulled the pump apart and to my suprise, the pump won't come out. somehow the impeller and the driveshaft are stuck together. I'm trying to figure out how to get the driveshaft unlocked inside but i can't seem to find this clip everyone talks about. What a dissapointing day. Well i'm gonna try and pry it out with a 12 pack of miller and a pack of marlboros.

to each his own but either way the more i'm getting buzzed the more i'm getting pissed off at it. I'm guessing this floating ring is the shiny thing at the end of the rubber boot and it won't move. I'm about to beat the shit out of it. Damn it what a wasted beautilful day.

Ok i figured it out. Enough miller lite and my temper got it out. I started the ski and floored it with the pump unbolted then i finally could pull the pump off. It looks like somehow the impeller and driveshaft splines are stripped. I guess i didn't put something back together right. Guess it's time to get that new RXT impeller, driveshaft, and pump. Richard if you're reading can you give me a price please. Seems like the only way i do mods lately is fixing broken shit. Even though this time it was my fault.

After talking with you on the phone before your battery went dead and we got disconected....I'm wondering if you didn't do the damage to the shaft when you floored it out of the water with the pump unbolted ???? The squealing you heard might not have been pump related ???

could possibly be SC impeller related might want to check it just in case

We did the same thing on a GSX. On it the rubber spacer on the PTO end went awol and the shaft slid forward. This makes the crappy prop end not fully engage and strips the impeller and shaft.
I am not sure what keeps the shaft properly placed on a 4 tec. It looks like the floating ring does it but I am not sure.

By the way....if you had some good Canadian beer you would have had it off in no time. It is the best shop tool.
