I expect the lawsuits will start when the marina owner, who admittedly had far more resources and losses then I do decides he’s had enough of the b/s as he sees his slip rental income dry up faster then the rio during a dry summer

To add insult to injury our lake is higher then it’s been in the last five years, ironically due to the loss of a lawsuit against Texas regarding how water from the rio is measured

Restaurants and other business around New Mexico and the rest of the USA are already dead

Even hertz car rental files for bankruptcy last week as their cars slowly bleach in the sun like all of the jets parked in Arizona and our little known boneyard in Roswell.

Fun fact: the lockheed jetstar belonging to elvis Presley was mothballed in Roswell and was auctioned off in 2018

I toyed with the idea of making a bid on it to drop it at the shop as a tourist attraction but later found that the engines were gone ( there is a small airport in truth or consequences)

    Bids started at 10k

Last time it sold was for over $400k

Another interesting celebrity jet story was wanye newtons 707
Which got stuck in Nashville when the engine flight certificates expired due to a minor FAA regulation change

He ended up trucking it back to his place in Vegas

I was fortunate enough to sit in its cockpit during a tour of casa de shenedoah

Stocks Soar As NYSE Trading Floor Reopens From Coronavirus Shutdown

    Bad news for Democrats.

    Via Fox News:
U.S. equity markets surged to their best levels in months as states continued to reopen and traders returned to the New York Stock Exchange for the first time since shutting down on March 23 to slow the spread of COVID-19.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rallied more than 600 points, or 2.45 percent, in the opening minutes of trading, while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite were higher by 2.20 percent and 1.84 percent, respectively. The gains, which propelled both the S&P 500 and the Dow to their highest levels since March and the Nasdaq to its best level since February, come after all three of the major averages each advanced more than 3 percent last week.

Politico Admits Democrats 'Dread’ A Fast Economic Rebound

The far-left Politico admitted Tuesday that Democrats are “dreading” the idea of a fast economic boom as America reopens, which explains the anti-science push among many Democrat governors to extend their pointless coronavirus lockdowns.

Thanks to these lockdowns, some 40 million people are unemployed, some 40 million lives have been shattered; lines at food pantries seem to go on forever; countless small businesses are in danger of closing or already have… Nevertheless, what America’s oh-so compassionate Democrats dread most is a quick economic rebound that might undermine their grasping desire to hold on to and obtain power.

“The general election scenario that Democrats are dreading,”
    the Politico headline reads.

"The months preceding the November election could offer Trump the chance to brag — truthfully — about the most explosive monthly employment numbers and GDP growth ever"...

What does it say about Democrats that with nearly 40 million lives shattered, they “dread” a fast comeback for those 40 million people?

Obviously, that’s a rhetorical question, but it does answer the question as to why — and for no valid scientific or medical reasons, a number of mercenary Democrat governors are desperate to push these pointless lockdowns as far into next month as possible (especially in swing states like Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania).

It is all about doing whatever damage they can to those third quarter GDP numbers...

Clinton-Appointed Judge Paves Way For Felons to Vote in Florida

Could add hundreds of thousands to voter rolls in critical state ahead of 2020 presidential election

A federal judge in Florida on Sunday declared key portions of the state’s felon voting law unconstitutional in a ruling that could allow hundreds of thousands of new voters being added to the rolls just in time for the 2020 presidential election.

In a 125-page ruling, US District Judge Robert Hinkle, a Clinton appointee, slammed the state’s “pay-to-vote” system which the GOP-controlled Florida Legislature passed nearly a year ago, which ended the state’s lifetime ban on voting for most ex-felons, but requires that they repay legal financial obligations first, according to Politico.

“This pay-to-vote system would be universally decried as unconstitutional but for one thing: each citizen at issue was convicted, at some point in the past, of a felony offense,” wrote Hinkle. “A state may disenfranchise felons and impose conditions on their reenfranchisement. But the conditions must pass constitutional scrutiny.”

“Whatever might be said of a rationally constructed system, this one falls short in substantial respects,” he added.

Hinkle’s ruling could lead to a major addition to the state’s voting rolls just months before the election in the battleground state. President Donald Trump, who narrowly won the state four years ago, has made winning Florida a key part of his reelection strategy.

One study done by Daniel Smith, a University of Florida political professor, found that nearly 775,000 people with felony convictions have some sort of outstanding legal financial obligation. – Politico

Hinkle claims that requiring people with felony convictions to pay legal fees – which are separate from restitution or fines ordered by the court – before being allowed to vote violated the US Constitution’s ban on poll taxes.

“[T]axation without representation led a group of patriots to throw lots of tea into a harbor when there were barely united colonies, let alone a United States,” wrote Hinkle. “Before Amendment 4, no state disenfranchised as large a portion of the electorate as Florida.”

Hinkle did, however, reject arguments by the groups and individuals who sued that the Florida’s law was discriminatory.

The ruling was immediately applauded by the long-line of groups that were part of the legal challenge, which spanned three different lawsuits.

“Today’s decision is a landmark victory for hundreds of thousands of voters who want their voices to be heard,” Paul Smith, vice president of the Campaign Legal Center, said in a statement. “This is a watershed moment in election law. States can no longer deny people access to the ballot box based on unpaid court costs and fees, nor can they condition rights restoration on restitution and fines that a person cannot afford to pay.” – Politico

And just like that, Trump lost Florida?

Consider moving to Florida, our governor has us re-opening. We dined at several of our favorite spots over the weekend. Theme parks should be cranking up soon. Meanwhile, we have plenty of lakes for fishing, skis, etc. That governor you have sounds like another Whitmer. Hopefully this entire event will convince Americans to avoid Democrat governors like the plague. (pun intended)

it would be moving back to florida actually, I lived there in the 80's and worked at the kawasaki dealership in cutler ridge, in the concrete dome building. That was during the era of street going two strokes and the "hahahaha Wetbike"

I'm a desert rat now, I can't move back to the land of salt water, humidity and mosquitoes, however the lack of a personal income tax is a serious consideration. NM is a really poor state, and really poor states depend on government handouts

besides at 62+ I'm pretty close to the end of real work.

More likely I'll move to <gasp> Texas in the next five years, even though according to the beloved gunny "only steers and queers come from texas"
