Retired Navy SEAL Jocko Willink: What every American should stop to think about on Memorial Day

Retired Navy SEAL Jocko Willink appeared on “Fox & Friends” Monday to explain how Americans should commemorate the nation's fallen heroes on Memorial Day.

“[I want to] remind people that the soldier, sailor, airman or Marine that we talk about in kind of abstract terms, I want people to remember that these are human beings, that these are people with families, hopes and dreams and that they sacrificed everything that they have so that we can have freedom,” said Willink, host of the "Jocko Podcast."

Willink, who served 20 years in the U.S. military and led the most highly decorated U.S. special operations unit of the Iraq war, said that during this holiday his mind is on the comrades that he lost in battle.

“I think not only of them but of the soldiers and Marines that we served alongside who were making sacrifices every day and we’re here 15 years later and we’re living an incredible life and have these opportunities every day and I’ll never forget that the opportunities that we have now are because of those who laid down their life for us.” Willink narrated and wrote a video for Prager U to give tribute to those who served the country.

Meanwhile, President Trump will mark Memorial Day with appearances at Arlington National Cemetery and Baltimore’s historic Fort McHenry, honoring fallen military members while also sending a clear signal to the country that his agenda will be business-as-almost-usual amid the coronavirus pandemic.

After two months of lockdowns in many states, Trump has sought to put a priority on reopening the economy while continuing to abide by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

Unofficially, the Memorial Day weekend has marked the start, or at least an acceleration, of that experiment in parts of the country – with many families heading to the beach and states pressing forward with loosening restrictions.

Willink told host and fellow veteran Pete Hegseth that Americans should always remember the men and women who gave their lives, but not be "somber" as they enjoy Memorial Day with friends and family.

"I know that my friends that gave their lives, they wouldn't want me to have a somber day. ... They want me to enjoy this great country that they made such a sacrifice for."

NM Governor cancels 4th of July Fireworks Show.

In the ongoing situation since it's obvious our governor is soooo afraid of having 100k people show up in our town for the 4th of july celebration, which includes a massive fireworks show, she's pretty much has indicated that our little town of 1200 is going to be a memory for most as she announces that the ban on large gatherings ( read our State Park Lake's 200 miles of shoreline) will remain closed likely for the next 18 months.

While I'm pretty much out of business now, at least I didn't buy 10 new Jetskis to expand into rentals this year.

On the other hand our local marina has a bunch of really nice Pontoon boats for rent, with no way to monetize them, and to think there was a waiting line for slips just 5 years ago with people selling their spot in the queue for up to $2500. I kinda doubt the BLM will be waiving the franchise fee charged to the marina company, who operate all three of the lakes marinas, as they report they are down 100k already since the closure. While beaches in the most populous spots in the country are open for business.

in any case , some nice views of our little town including our annual memorial day celebration, where the highway is lined with American Flags and the locals wondering how the hell we are going to pay our bills this winter without any seasonal income.

Without any actual hint on an opening date, it's unlikely I'll be renewing my shop liability insurance, which pretty much means I'll be out of business, because none of my other overhead goes away, unless I want to fully abandon my shop and shut down all the utilities.

Casa Taco, one of the restaurants shown in the vidoe, does a roaring business during the summer months, or should I say did, with the entire parking lot jammed with trucks and boat haulers end to end. Now it's takeout for the locals and the people "passing thru"

NM Tourism-Closures may extend to 18 months

New Mexico tourism chief: ‘It could be a year or 18 months’ before mass gatherings resume

Gatherings larger than 100 people could be out of the question for more than a year, New Mexico Tourism Secretary Jen Paul Schroer announced in a virtual meeting this week.

That means stadiums, theaters and conference centers might remain empty for months.

<Likely the famous Albuquerque balloon festival will not be held this year, a death blow to the states tourism industry>

Nice Views of our little town and our lake, I'll be sure to post when the fire sale starts on business properties here.
I paid over 100k for my property right off interstate 25 Fourteen years ago, I'll be lucky to get half of what I paid for it since we all know that when vacation habits change, they sometimes never change back.
We'll be watching with great concern to see how long it takes LasVegas to return to its former glory ( if ever)

In the meantime, I expect to be part of whatever massive lawsuit appears since it's pretty clear the US constitution no longer applies to citizens of the state New Mexico, which I will start a petition to have its name changed to "North Mexico"
I'd move my business to Lake Havasu, which looked like is having a decent season, but at 62, I just don't have it in me to start all over again for the couple of working years I have left.
I'll put up some new signage, and change the main focus of my business to doing digital automobile keys, boy that's going to be a roaring business around here with he lake closed "until further notice"

Newsom Issues New Authoritarian Guidelines For Reopening Churches: Limit Capacity to 25% or 100 People, Eliminate Singing

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) issued new authoritarian guidelines for reopening churches.

President Trump declared all houses of worship “essential” on Friday during the White House press briefing.

States were to open their churches and synagogues THIS WEEKEND!

Democrat Governor Newsom initially pushed back against Trump, then buckled after enormous pressure and decided to reopen churches…with new authoritarian guidelines.

Newsom believes he has the authority to tell Christians they cannot sing in church.

Newsom is also trying to limit the capacity in places of worship to 25% or 100 people maximum.

Fox News has more on this developing story:

It is important to note that Newsom did not roll out the same guidelines for restaurants.

Where is US Attorney General Bill Barr??

California didn’t set # or % for capacity requirements for reopening of dine-in restaurants, but set guidelines for churches to restrict capacity to 100 people or 25%.

How is this not a violation of the 1st Amendment? Sounds like a case for @realDonaldTrump & @TheJusticeDept.

Mission accomplished for the Democrat Party of despair. They know if they can cause significant damage to the small business sector, the economy will be right where they need it when at election time (in the toilet). Hang in there Pete, get together with 50 other business owners and hire an attorney to force that scumbag Governor to listen to the needs of the citizens. Try mass protests at her office/home. If that doesn't work, well just keep your powder dry. Eventually Americans will get totally pissed off and this tyrant problem will be dealt with like it was in 1776.

And the Democrat double standard continues...

LOCKDOWN FOR THEE, BUT NOT FOR ME!
GRETCHEN WHITMER'S HUSBAND BUSTED FOR URGING DOCK COMPANY TO LAUNCH HIS BOAT

The Detroit News reported Monday that Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D) husband exploited her position to urge a dock company to put his boat in the water before Memorial Day weekend, despite strict coronavirus guidelines.

When told that there was no way to rush his boat into the water, given that the governor had only recently started lifting restrictions, giving the company little time to handle a crush of requests, her husband reportedly said: ‘I am the husband to the governor, will this make a difference?”

Like I was saying, it's part of their mission...

    Nolte:
Politico Admits Democrats 'Dread’ A Fast Economic Rebound

The far-left Politico admitted Tuesday that Democrats are “dreading” the idea of a fast economic boom as America reopens, which explains the anti-science push among many Democrat governors to extend their pointless coronavirus lockdowns.

Thanks to these lockdowns, some 40 million people are unemployed, some 40 million lives have been shattered; lines at food pantries seem to go on forever; countless small businesses are in danger of closing or already have… Nevertheless, what America’s oh-so compassionate Democrats dread most is a quick economic rebound that might undermine their grasping desire to hold on to and obtain power.

“The general election scenario that Democrats are dreading,”
    the Politico headline reads.

"The months preceding the November election could offer Trump the chance to brag — truthfully — about the most explosive monthly employment numbers and GDP growth ever"...

What does it say about Democrats that with nearly 40 million lives shattered, they “dread” a fast comeback for those 40 million people?

Obviously, that’s a rhetorical question, but it does answer the question as to why — and for no valid scientific or medical reasons, a number of mercenary Democrat governors are desperate to push these pointless lockdowns as far into next month as possible (especially in swing states like Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania).

It is all about doing whatever damage they can to those third quarter GDP numbers...
