Bumbling Joe Now Claims He Was Ivy League Professor After Leaving Senate, Forgetting 8 Years of Being VP (VIDEO)

Senile ol’ Joe Biden does it again, this time claiming he was a professor at University Of Pennsylvania after he left the Senate. Apparently he forgot that he was Vice President after leaving the Senate. For 8 years.

biden appears to be confused about his past

he claims he became a professor when he left the us senate
he didn't; he became vice president
he also never actually taught a class

the campaign needs to stop him from doing interviews bc they aren't going well for him at all https://t.co/LSpfmnKh99
    — Thao Nguyen (@helloitsthao) March 25, 2020

This was apparently part of some online streaming town hall on NBC to discuss the coronavirus. Here’s the video in full, though it doesn’t actually start until around the 55:10 mark, then, with no intro, it awkwardly hard cuts into Joe already talking.

It turns out he received an honorary professorship, but never taught a class, and students were confused as to why he was around campus. And this was in 2017, long after he’d left the Senate and after his time as VP. For his troubles, the university paid him $900,000. What for is unclear, and many people questioned the move. The Philadelphia Inquirer inquired as to why Biden was on the pay roll:

The former vice president collected $371,159 in 2017 plus $540,484 in 2018 and early 2019 for a vaguely defined role that involved no regular classes and around a dozen public appearances on campus, mostly in big, ticketed events.

Penn’s payments to Biden raised eyebrows and questions among some in the community when they were revealed this week as part of the financial disclosures for his presidential campaign. The average salary for a Penn professor was $217,411 in the 2017-18 academic year, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education.

Biden’s official title was the Benjamin Franklin Presidential Practice Professor — the first person to hold that job — and he also lent his name to the school’s effort to expand its footprint on international affairs.

At the same time, Biden kept up a schedule of paid speeches to other audiences, including $190,000 at Drew University in Madison, N.J., on March 28 and $180,000 at Vanderbilt University on April 10, the day before he returned for a talk on opioids at Penn.

Stores Vandalized In Portland As Businesses Ordered To Close, Inmates Released, Police Ordered To Cite In Lieu Of Arrest

What happens when a governor orders businesses to close, jails release dozens of inmates, and police announce they will only respond to life threatening calls and issue citations instead of arresting people? Anyone with three functioning brain cells can see where this toxic combination is heading.

Sure enough, just one day into Oregon Governor Kate Brown’s order that all businesses deemed “non essential” are to close, vandals smashed out windows of seven businesses in Portland’s fancy pants Pearl District.
This has led to several businesses in the area to board up their windows.

    KPTV reports:

“Yeah, I’m very worried about looting. I’m worried about a lot of things. Looting is definitely in the front of my mind right now,” said Ramzy Hattar, owner of River Pig Saloon. ” Especially cause it happened next door. And we’re two to three days into this closure, I can only image what’s going to happen in a month or two months into it.”

Just this past weekend, police did get reports of vandals throwing rocks and hitting seven different businesses near Northwest 10th and Lovejoy.

Michael Chown works in the Pearl District and was upset to see the glass windows covered by plywood.

“It’s scary honestly. Just driving down the street, no one is walking around, no one’s working, no one’s outside,” Chown said.

UK Teen Commits Suicide Over Coronavirus Self-Isolation

“Unable to cope with her world closing in.”

A 19-year-old woman in the UK has committed suicide after being “unable to cope with her world closing in” following the coronavirus lockdown.

Emily Owen, who suffered from high functioning autism, gave an eerily prescient warning to her family days before her death, saying that “more people will die from suicide during this than the virus itself.”

She died in hospital on Sunday after attempting suicide on March 18th. Owen’s family said that the suicide attempt was driven by the teen’s fears over social isolation.

According to her sister, Emily was “very concerned about coronavirus itself but more concerned about the mental health impact of isolation and the fear of the unknown.”

The United Kingdom officially went into coronavirus lockdown earlier this week. People are only allowed to go outside for one form of exercise a day, buying food and for medical reasons.

Owen had been working in a pub, all of which were ordered closed by the government last week.

The Kings Arm Pub in Shouldham, Norfolk, said they were “heartbroken that we won’t see her breeze through our doors like a tornado of energy again, or hear her distinctive laugh.”

It is also being reported that a nurse in Italy committed suicide after being “traumatized” by her experiences on the front lines fighting COVID-19.

Another nurse who worked on an intensive care ward in a London hospital where coronavirus patients were being treated also committed suicide on Monday.
