University of Florida Student Body President Facing Impeachment for Having Trump Jr. Speak on Campus

The student body president at the University of Florida is facing calls for impeachment over having Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle speak on campus last month.

Michael C. Murphy was sent a formal impeachment resolution on Tuesday because he paid the couple $50,000 in publicly funded student activity fees for their appearance.

The resolution claims that he misappropriated the money to further his “own expressed political beliefs,” and endangered students who were “marginalized by the speakers’ white nationalist supporters.” It also claims that Murphy conspired with an official for Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign. The document was signed by approximately 100 students and alumni.

Those pushing for the impeachment claim that the law prohibits public funds being used to support political campaigns.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that Murphy has maintained since before the event that it was not a campaign stop, even though the speeches focused mainly on the senior Trump’s success as president.

“No one disputes the fact that Michael Murphy is very well-connected,” Jarrod Rodriguez, treasurer of UF’s College Republicans group, told the newspaper. “I can’t fault him for using those connections to bring a speaker of that caliber to campus.”

The newspaper explained that “according to student government rules, Murphy will have the chance to present counter-evidence and testimony before half of the senate, which will take the initial vote on his impeachment.”

“If at least two-thirds of the group votes in favor, Murphy will be immediately suspended. Then the other half of the senate will take a final vote on whether to permanently remove him from office.”

McConnell Says the Senate Will Not Quickly Dismiss Articles of Impeachment Against Trump, ‘We’ll Have to Have a Trial’

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Wednesday told reporters that there will not be a quick dismissal of Trump impeachment articles.

It would only take a simple majority vote (51 Senators) to pass a motion to dismiss — but with RINOs like Mitt Romney, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, it is unlikely to happen.

There are 53 Republican Senators and 45 Democrats plus 2 Independents who caucus with Dems — so it would take 20 Republican Senators to reach 67 votes to convict Trump in the Senate.

GOP Senators are giving legitimacy to the sham impeachment spawned by Eric Ciaramella, a political hack who conspired with Schiff’s staffers to launch an impeachment coup against Trump.

“I don’t think there’s any question that we have to take up the matter. The rules of impeachment are very clear, we’ll have to have a trial. My own view is that we should give people the opportunity to put the case on,” McConnell told reporters.

As far as a time frame for an impeachment trial, McConnell said, “on the issue of how long it goes on, it’s really kind of up to the Senate. People will have to conclude are they learning something new? At some point we’ll get to an end.”

Senator Rand Paul on the other hand has said that he wants to quickly dismiss any articles of impeachment that reach the Senate.

Senator Paul also said Wednesday that he wants to bring in Eric Ciaramella, the CIA whistleleaker who started the impeachment inquiry, in for testimony — the Dems may just fall into their own trap with this impeachment if Senators call in witnesses like Ciaramella to testify.

Idiot RINO Senator Richard Burr, however, said this week that the Senate Intelligence Committee will hold an impeachment trial that will last for “6 to 8 weeks.”

It will run for 6 days a week, from 12:30 to 6:30 PM.

The Republicans are worthless and have done NOTHING to fight back against the Soviet-style impeachment inquiry which is denying Trump due process.

If the Senate holds a trial, they better go scorched earth and bring in every witness possible to damage and expose the Dems, including Eric Ciaramella.

Emmy-winning former NBC medical correspondent Dr Bruce Hensel, 71, is arrested for asking his friend's 9-year-old daughter for 'sexually suggestive' photographs

    • Dr Bruce Hensel, 71, was arrested in Santa Monica, California, early Wednesday
    • He allegedly swapped 'inappropriate' messages to a nine-year-old girl, the daughter of an acquaintance, and requested 'sexually suggestive' images
    • Hensel was an on-air medical correspondent for NBC for almost three decades
    • He was later released on bail and his lawyer said he is 'completely innocent'

An award-winning TV medical correspondent has been arrested for allegedly requesting 'sexually suggestive' images from a nine-year-old girl.

Dr Bruce Hensel, who worked for KNBC for almost three decades, was arrested in Santa Monica, California, around 10am Wednesday.
Police say they began investigating the 71-year-old after he swapped 'inappropriate' messages and pictures with the girl, who is the daughter of an acquaintance.

Detectives allege that Hensel then requested 'sexually suggestive' photos of the girl on or about August 4 this year.

Let's blame our sinking foundation on "rising ocean levels."
See how that works? Such a sham...

NO, VENICE ISN'T FLOODING BECAUSE OF 'CLIMATE CHANGE'

Venice is flooded (again) and the mayor Luigi Brugnaro is blaming climate change. This has become the standard dog-ate-my-homework excuse for desperate politicians and administrators who want to dodge their responsibilities while simultaneously attracting media sympathy and aid money.

But it’s rubbish, of course. The real reason for Venice’s plight is whichever idiot who decided all those years ago to build the city on a series of swampy islands at the edge of a lagoon.

This is being billed as the ‘worst flooding in Venice in 50 years’. But it’s still two inches short of the ‘worst ever’ flooding in 1966. Which rather invites the question: if it’s ‘climate change’ that is causing it now, what was the cause 53 years ago when CO2 levels were about 90 ppm lower?

Could it be, maybe, that Venice is sinking, that tides will rise, and that flooding every now and then is what Venice does.

Tacoma City Council Approves New Gun, Ammunition Taxes

Like Seattle, its neighbor to the north, the city of Tacoma’s city council has enacted new taxes on guns an ammunition sold there. In an 8-0 vote, the council voted to run gun retailers out of town
    .

    Wait. Our mistake.

They approved levying new taxes on firearms and ammunition, ostensibly to fight “gun violence.” In practice, just as in Seattle, they won’t bring in nearly as much revenue as predicted and local gun stores will be forced to shutter or move.
    As thenewstribune.com reports,

Council member Catherine Ushka said passing the tax is playing “the long game” in addressing gun violence reduction.

Translation: they intend to make operating a retail gun store in Tacoma financially impossible when residents will be able to drive just outside city limits to avoid the new taxes.

The tax is $25 per firearm sold at retail, $.02 per round of ammunition that contains a single projectile that measures .22 caliber or less sold at retail, and $.05 per round of ammunition for all other ammunition sold at retail.

The tax goes into effect on July 1, 2020 and is expected to raise $30,000 annually to fund violence prevention programs.

Watch the video above. Bruce Smith of Surplus Ammo & Arms sees the picture very clearly.

Seattle had their own pie-in-the-sky predictions of the loads of cash its similar taxes would bring in to fight “gun violence.” Of course, those were just lies told to sell the plan. Anyone with a basic understanding of economics knew that.

Only a fraction of the predicted amounts have been collected because Seattle’s consumers aren’t stupid. They’ve chosen to buy their guns and ammunition elsewhere.

The same thing will happen in Tacoma. And just as in Seattle, council members will obfuscate and express shock that there’s less money available for their pet projects.
    Same as it ever was.
