780 Carbs / Intake Mounting
Does anyone know if there was a rationale for the different mounting of the carbs on 780 models i.e. with the trottle on the PTO end and the carbs turned 180 degrees so the diaphragms face the jugs? I have noticed that the intake for the 780 vs the 750 raises the carbs by about 1/2" as the top flange is thicker than the 750s........????
Thanks!

Having the return fitting on the MAG cyl helps trapped air to escape more easily. Since the ski nose raises up upon accel, it would have to be forced down, then eventually up and back to the tank when exiting at the PTO.
