Modded Riva grate?
Anyone mod a Riva grate yet? I'm thinking about making the scoop part on mine slightly less aggressive to try and balance top end and hook up. Sorry if this seems outlandish but i get creative when i drink.

I actually cut out the fins on the inside and out (middle portion) and knifed the bottom edges. I really don't think it did much other than make it equal to the stock grate. Running both of them back to back, I did notice before modding the Riva one, the stock gave me about 1 mph more.

It'd be nice to try and find that happy medium. At least now with the riva grate i can give the modded GPRs around here a run for they're money in the chop. I don't know if i'm up for hacking up a $110 grate though....well i take it back i do worse dumb shit than that.

This is true, but this was on a RXP. Im sure the RXT is a whole different ball game.

Yeah you have more weight pushing that grate onto the water. I would have to say i lost speed since after the few mods i have i was hardly any faster than stock. I couldn't test them back to back because my stock grate was broken and i was lucky it didn't break on of the bars off altogether and lose one in the pump. That could have be catostrophic.

I think Burnwater proved that the stock grate is fastest on the RXT platform.

Yeah i had to get one because my stock grate snapped in half so i figured i would try the riva grate. It does awsome in the chop though. I might keep my eyes open for a stocker. Twocorrupt said he had good results with a modded stock grate.
