I had a faulty r&d ecu that didn't read right, smaller charger (11psi) riva ride plate and I hit 83mph no buck

Now I have a remapped ecu (Gary Watson) 14psi charger, Jims, plate no boost leaks and its revving up to 8400rpm nicely..

80mph with a buck. Wtf is going on its spinning me out big time I think I should be well over 85mph easy but its just not happening
I don't know about the SHO motors in these ski and what speeds you should be at, but have you looked at the hull drag, plate, grate and shoe heights?

when you had the engine out, was the bottom of the hull checked and trued?

here is my pump shoe drilled.

Yes you should be 85 easy. Something underneath isn't right.

Today I drilled two holes in the pump shoe behind the intake grate, and kept the relief valves loosened up, no buck! It felt really solid in the water, it was really hot today and extremely windy and it got to 82.4.. I have the ride plate planted down so now ill start loosening the hull up and repitching the prop.. I think on a better day on flat water it should hit easy 84mph, thanks for your help guys..

    Dude relax i was kidding.

I am glad u gained speed with no buck on a day like today wind was crazy.

give the plate some angle little bit at a time.

Yeah I know lol, we are thinking of putting a xlt 87mm nozzle as it has more angle on it, I currently have the 85mm what do you think? The hull feels pretty planted down and I have one at home what do you think?

XLT nozzle had more degree in it yes but the 87mm will cost u speed will be my guess
stick with the 85mm and use the plate and tabs tabs to get your speed.
