ever any updates with this. Try gpsing again with garmin or something? Does seem like you should be faster than that. Considering a 1100 swap for my girl but i was thinking it should be around 56-57..but after seeing this not so sure ..800s tend to do 55-56 and from what ive read the HP is a bit exaggerated?

    hey,
im doing this conversion on my 01 gpr hull with a 1200 engine from a 98 xl1200.
so do u have any more info on how you moved the front mounts or measurements?
will the coupling on the gp1200r not work for the 65U? i noticed the coupling on the xl1200 is much shorter, can i use that?

You will need to move the front mounts back.

Im keen to do this as well, Do you just fibreglass the mounts back ? or is it a bolt in on the 800 mounts

Yes the 800, 1100 and 1200 65u use the same mount locations. I did a 63m swap in my GPR. I need to do my own build thread. But in the meantime, here are some photos of how I moved the mounts.

Attempting to do my own 65u swap into a gp800r. Started my own thread but I forgives I’d bump this one too just in case it jogs someone’s memory from before. When it comes to the pump shaft, drive shaft, and coupler what parts would I need to mate it correctly? Do I just swap the motor and the whole pump assembly from the 65u gp1200? Also, I did see a couple places the mounts are the same for the gp800r as they are for the 65u. Is this the case? Thanks guys!
