Anyone seen/used this stuff?
I'm getting ready to attempt to make the collector pipe for my SLTX project & was looking for info on welding aluminum & came across this.. Lots cheaper than the Tig welder I was looking at. I was thinking of giving it a try, Has anyone used this stuff? Any feedback?

looks risky to me, I would make the investment into a tig welder personally

Or just get it fabbed up and ready to weld and take it to someone who can weld it.

I might just order some to play with. Maybe I'll build that shed made of beer cans I always wanted!

You can get the same stuff at your local Harbor Freight or Northern tool. I never got it to work very well with propane, but it works allot better with map gas or oxy/acetylene...

Iv'e seen the videos of this stuff. its great.. just need to scratch and clean the piece of metal first, then heat the metal up until when you place the rod on the piece it begins to melt , then make a pool patch to fill, let cool, grind as needed. Done!. I never used it but seen it at an airshow here a few years back being used. it was 50.00 for 8 rods! way cheaper now looks like. its stronger than aluminum too. the melting temp is 728 F.
