Help with choosing a waverunner
I have never owned jetskis previously, but I do own a boat and I am wondering what jet ski would be the best for my family.
I have 2 children, ages:17 and 19, they are for my kids
I want a very easily maintainable waverunner since we're only going to use it a little time of the year, because they are for my house in the Florida Keys which we go to 3-4 times a year for a couple weeks at a time.
So i'm looking for easy maintenaince, for the ocean/ bay, and such.

+1 on the VX. Easy to maintain, best gas mileage, most reliable ski on the market, plus one of the cheapest 4 strokes you will find.

agree on the VX!! great basic ski with top speed in low to mid 50s. Very reliable and fun ski for family use
comes in 3 versions--sport, deluxe, cruiser--couple of hundred bucks between each level--sport is the enrty level--no boarding step or reverse, deluxe has these, cruiser adds a comfy 3 person seat.
If you do a search on this or other forums, you'll see folks with 700-800 hours on their VXs with nothing other than normal maintanance (given most folks put 25-50 hours a year on their skis--that's 15-20 years of normal riding) --it's the top selling ski in the world primarily driven by rental fleets who value reliability very highly. Rarely see a brand other than Yamaha in a rental fleet and nearly all are VXs

+VX, I bought my daughter a new one when she was 16 she's now 20 and still loves it. Very Stable even riding with 2 or 3 people on it, reliable, good in rough water and great on gas, also can tow a tube with no problems.
She hates riding my gp1200.

Grab an stx15F. very reliable, good on gas, lots of pulling power and very stable.

Take a look at FZR and FZS more power still run on regular gas, FZS has tow hook, and very good on rough water. Vx good choice also but not as fast.

I had the same question last year, ended up with a fxsho for my daughter and fzs for myself . Got a great deal on these (new 2009 models) . Only have about 5 hours and love them. For now I leave the fxsho in limited mode till she gets more experience.
