Anti cavitation cone and other mods
Any one using an aftermarket anti cavitation cone? seen the les cooke ones... imagine they arent really cheap
what other brands are out there, how effective are they at reducing cavitation and what other gains can be had.
http://www.seadoocentre.com/pumpparts.htm
also what other small ish mods can be done to the pump? was considering a pump wedge but the previous owner tried one and said it handled horrible and he didnt like it, considering the rest of the stuff his done has been bang on i think ill pass.
was also considering getting an adjustable nozzel which seem quite reasonable
jet ski is a 2004 rxp
X-charger
42lbs injectors
riva sponsons
R&D grate
14/19 prop
fizzel intake
Riva pipe
got a fizzle cooler kit coming in the mail
and going to grab a new compressor wheel for around 13.5psi @ 8100
seadoo center is then going to do me and ecu to suit above and pull the rev limiter out to 8400rpm
also prob get them to tweck the prop once iv got it out on the water and see what rpms/speed etc
42lbs injectors have the head room for what i want to do
what about the fuel pump?
anything else i should consider

I just picked up the R&D anti cav cone. About as impressed as you can get for $100 I suppose.
What's the SDC cone cost?
why don't you get some retainers and crank up the rpm a little more, if your going to fork out for a reflash anyway! You'll only end up wanting to do it later anyway, and then you will have to pay for another reflash.

unsure what they cost although there was one on here 2nd hand for $350 !
they look shit hot imo big red anodised thing... although most stuff looks 10x better anodoised
whats a set of retainers worth? less stress i place on the ol' shit 04 valves the best i guess...

R&D cone did improve mine but I needed the large spacer fitted, cone on its own made no difference. When fitting make sure you put it in the correct position as the cone is offset.

When I fitted the cone with no spacer I could not tell any kind of difference, however I was told to try fitting a spacer which I did. After fitting the spacer I could see a difference. The company I got the part from is here in the uk. I have put a link to the part below but it looks like they do not now stock the item.

Bite the bullet and get the full Riva kit. It will outlast the life of the engine. PM me if you need to borrow the Riva valve tool

You have gotta get those valves out. bite the bullet and be done with it, order the Ferrea set.

My old ski..... Knew youd get into it mate. Go the Ferrera valves and Riva Valve Train Upgrade kit. Id be doing that before anything else. That ski was always fogged, cleaned, flushed etc but like anything as time goes by and you keep putting more and more on it you want to keep it strong.
Then forget the 8400 reflash, thats a waste of time, go higher. Seadoo Centre wont be interested in fitting any parts you buy off here though. I know that first hand. Glad its all going well.
