2001 WaveRunner 1200 XLT fuel Problem

We forgot to screw in the plugs when we launched and anchored our craft. Quickly realized our mistake the next morning when it was sitting low in the water. It fried the battery so we replaced it. Could never get it to fire due to water in the engine and carbs. It sat for about six months and now we have put on a set of used carbs since the old ones are pretty corroded inside.

Still not getting fuel. I have taken the carbs apart and cleaned them and still no fuel. We have spark and it will fire if I spray a little starting fluid in the carbs.

Any ideas?

Your issue is not only gas, but if you did not get the water out the cases, the crank and bearings will fail. You still have to put a but if fuel in the cylinders to fire off and prime the carbs. Recommend mixed 32:1. Still, if you did not get the water out immediately and run it, the inside if the engine looks like the carbs. The reed stops are metal and will rust. May need a crank and piston hardware.

Welcome to the forum, If it sat for six months with the engine filled with water the engine is done. The carbs. are only a small issue compared to what you will need to do to get it running good again.
