RXX Hood Swap ????

I am getting part #'s togather now and need a grab bar in black.
Will the RX DI part fit?

So far parts are around $100 not counting the cost of the hood.

If I get a new grab bar you can add $50 to the total.

My other option is to paint my bar black??? But $50 would be so much easier, and look better.

I will order my gel coat repair kit tomorrow. They have never mixed a grey metallic so I suppose I will be the first. For all of you with colored boats yours will be lots easier to patch the holes.

When I get started I will snap pics as I go and get a list of part #'s togather along with each items price.

All the grab bars are the same, there is one model that the mounting holes are not all drilled in the bar but that is an easy fix.

Don't paint the bar just get a black one, watch ebay they come up. I'm using one off of a rx di.

Both hoods are the same except the RXX has no mirror holes to fill, the finish is just a texture finish on the RXX and RX is painted.

The stock trim pieces will work other than the color for me (silver).

I'm using the RXX trim pieces now that I have gotten rid of the reverse.

On another note a hood for a GTI LE will also fit, just picked one up on ebay for 40 bucks (hood shell and compartment shell)

I don't realy need the hood shell I was just after the compartment cover to use as a plug to make a carbon high flow lid. Riva wants 138.00 for one!!! I will check tom. to see if the RXP lid will work. then you could use the hood shell fill the mirror holes and paint it whatever you want. the only thing you will need is the black frame that the hood shell mounts to riva has those for 58.00 all other hardware you can get from the stock rxp, hinge, latch etc.

The RXX hood is lighter than the RX by 25% I have heard.
The RXX hood is the same material as the old style hoods from all the other boats.

I will weight these things as I swap them out tomorrow so I can tell how much a differance it will make.
