removing the stock IC for an aftermarket IC
I haven't done it yet - but a beer thought asks me this - If you remove the stock IC and seal the cover - isn't there perhaps too much volume where the stock IC was. Has anyone tried to place some sort of restriction in place of the stock IC??? The runners in intakes need to be matched in size and volume. Just a beer thought.
Happy Riding
Tim

Les Cooke Racing in Australia is playing with this. When you take out the stock IC you end up with a large intake manifold capacity (about 13 liters) so your throttle response does suffer a little as the s/c has to refill this area up every time you get off the throttle and back on before you get full boost again.Really only critical for short course racing where acceleration off the buoys and the start is paramount. I believe he fits something into the manifold to take up the excess space but what it looks like I don`t know. You get that info when you write the cheq and buy one I guess. One of his ski`s will be at Havasu this year so watch out for it .

22 lbs?
How many races does that engine last?

Good question Jerry I guess them that go to Havasu will find out first. He machines the front cover of the s/c out so much that it has to be welded up in places where it goes through then fits a much bigger impeller. 22lbs sounds pretty wild huh, don`t think it will be running on pump gas somehow
Its going to need a good pump and a good, well everything really.

That sounds awsome. Les Cooke really has it going on!
