Oil consumption???
Checked oil level today, had to add about 3/4 quart to bring level up to "dead center on stick". (warm engine-level...Stock 05- RXP w/60.5 hours w/ only one oil change at 10 hours.)
What would be considered normal oil consumption

You should change the oil real real soon. SD recommends every 30-50 hrs or something?..

Oil Consumption
We have owned two 4 strokes - a N/A 4 TEC last year, and an RXT this year. The 4-TEC was second-hand with about 50 hours on (we took it to 120). It always used some oil which was about 1-3mm drop on the stick each time we used it. I was initially concerned, but it didn't change all the time we owned it so we sopped worrying aand just used the Ski. I did do a search on all the forums I could find worldwide an over about 80 Skis, people were reporting oil consumption anywhere between 1/4 to 1Q over 50 hours, with most people using about 1/2 Q in 50 hours. Our RXT does use some oil, but we have had the benefit of running the Ski in. It has used about 1/2 a dipstick worth in about 40 hours. I would say from this that you're OK (but I'm no expert). One thing that we have noticed is that if you ride on smooth lakes, etc. Oil consumption is minimal. When we jump Waves, Oil consumption increases. Anyone else had this/can offer some explanation??

Thanks bic1, good info.......just what i was looking and hoping for. I ride glass smooth lakes in ala, but the people a i ride with, including myself, ride very aggressive, with a lot of wot out of the hole during what we call "water wars"
Conclusion, i believe my oil consumption is ok, but i should consider changing more often
