Difference in Speed By pass Controls

I see there are two different speed by pass contols pictured in this forum. One appears to be a simple plug in, the other appears to be spliced in. Both are very new but I am curious as to the differences or similarities in them. It may be to early to evaluate them Click image for larger version.

If you look closely to the first picture, you can see 2 more wires ( top right ).

To me the Riva look like it goes to the battery + and - and convert it to 5volts (white) to foul the speed signal ?! LOL.

    Who knows?
