    I know this post is old... Very ignorant question here. Should the shaft be able to rotate once in place correctly? or it should just feel stuck and solid no movement? I'm just having a hard time reinstalling the propulsion casing at the end of the shaft after replacing the carbon seal. The thing wont let me close it complete for me to reinstall the screw nuts. Thanks in advance

    Careful... solid could mean bound up which is not good. Follow the specs in the manual. I always put the shaft in with just the pump torque correctly..no o-rings in the PTO. carbon ring/hat etc. It should have a slight back and forth movement and not be bound up.
