GP1200 int shaft and jetpump questions(pics and video)
I think I know the answers to these questions but I thought I'd ask anyways.
Does this look like an excessive amount of bearing free play in this intermediate housing? Need a new bearing??

And does this green oozing goo coming out of the intake duct housing, mean the grease has mixed with some water? Need new seals??

Intermediate shaft coupler looks fine it wont have as much play when the driveshaft is installed. As far as the grease you dont want to much in there.Drain any water out before you try and put the driveshaft in or it wont go all the way in.Tilt the trailer to drain water.

thanks. Yeah there wasn't any play when the driveshaft was installed. I have the intake duct out of the ski. I tipped it up and no water drained out, just the oozy grease. I think I'll just clean it up a bit and install some fresh grease.

the whiteish grease is a possible indicator of your needing to reseal.. that water is actually whipped into the grease.. most of the time this is not a big issue as true marine grease is formulated to carry the small amounts of water that pass the seal ..this is where maintainance plays a part besides not letting a ski sit too long ..the water will eventually seperate and cause rust and surface stains on your bearings..

I cleaned up the intake duct today. It wasn't nearly as bad as I first thought. Only a little bit of gooey grease oozed out. The rest of the grease looked pretty good.
