New Riva Ride Plate causes my FZS to Porpoise any way to make it stop!
I just installed a Riva intake and ride plate and now my FZS porpoises like crazy and yes is it much faster but this is very annoying i generall ride in rough water but in calm water this drives me crazy. I did not use the additional shims (washers) that came with the ride plate I also noticed the surface is not level with the intake the forward edge of the ride plate is lower than the intake grate is this the cause, any suggestions...
Thanks,
Nick

The rideplate is not supposed to sit flush with the intake grate. This design reduces friction. I would start by shimming the back of the plate to stop the proposing.

My Rival plate is for sail. At about 78 MPH that plate becomes unruly. I found that out during my last endurance race.

ER-not the best plate by far for the FZ skis. I would sell it. It was crap on mine (sorry if this offends, but it was).

Shim the back with 3 washers. Costs 1.5 mph, but well worth it.

i have riden a ski with the forward edge of the ride plate lower than the shoe
and it was a bitch to ride it had a porpous that could not be controled
more like a bucking bronco
the faster i went the worse it got
at least it was an easy fix, just take out the factory spacers
