Where to tap into for a boost gauge???
Hey guys,
Need a little help. I'm going to be installing my vacuum/boost gauge this weekend and just wanted to ask which vacuum hose to tap into, or preferred spot to tap into?
I'm sure some of you have installed a boost gauge so just wanted to get your opinion.
By the way, I have a 2007 F-12X.
Thanks,
Martin.

Mine was installed into a tee that went to the front MAP sensor but others have mounted them elsewhere, I believe. My location shows vacuum/boost [with the right gauge].

What kind of boost gauges are you using that are waterproof? Also, where are you mounting them?
Thanks!

Just to throw in my two cents... I use a Autometer 4603
It's a 2 5/8 gauge so it's larger and easy to read. Liquid filled so you know it's sealed against water intrusion and it dampens vibrations on the needle. It looks nice and works well.
I've never mounted it permanently. I just zip tie it somewhere when I need to do testing.

I'll take a pic at lunch... But I tee it off from the map sensor mounted high above the valve cover.
