Karavan trailer question
My trailer is a Karavan wce 1250-46. I popped the cap off the axle to grease the bearings and did not find a grease nipple. Instead I found a very large hex nut there. I am new to this, but figured it would be on the outside underneath the dust cap. According to the manufactures website it has sure-lube bearings. Am I just missing it? Do I need to take the actual wheel off? All help is greatly appreciated.

Is there a grease Zerk fitting in the end of the solid metal axle?

I stopped at my dealer today and they told me that the trailer has pack bearings on it. They said to fill the area around the nut with grease and put the cap back on, so I guess that is what I will do.

I know this is an old thread that no one cares about but I'm just going to post some information I got from Karavan concerning this trailer Karavan WCE-1250-46 in case anyone does a search and finds this thread. This is a very popular trailer. This is the email (directly from Karavan)...
My question...
I thought I had the sure lube system but I guess I don't
because I just popped off the wheel cap and all I see is the large bolt.
The cap says knott waterproof on it. Is this the type of bearing that
would benefit from a "Bearing Buddy", if so what size is the hub bore in
mm so I can purchase the correct size for the WCE-1250-46.Karavan's repsonse...
This is a sealed bearing system, automotive technology. Bearing buddies
are not required and can not be added.
The system is a no maintenance system.

Oh ya and the grease is lifetime. No need to ever change it. Unbelievable.

So the bearings are actual sealed bearings?
No water penetration?
Why did it take so long to move to this design?
