jet trim or plain old vinyl seat cover?
ive got a good price going on getting my seat redone on my gp1200r. it has the stock seat, and has been recovered before with a tint too purple. im either going to get an all black jet trim, or get it redone in just the standard vinyl, but in black.
is the no slip surface of the jet trim really worth it?
the jet trim is 175 plus shipping, then my uphulstry guy can install it for 75, or he said i can get him to redo it with his materials for 195, that includes the black vinyl, and install.
so im looking at i guess 200 (including shipping) and 75 = 275
or 195 all said and done.
should i go with the jet trim?

I like Jettrim seat covers. You can pick from several different colors and patterns. IMO it dresses up the ski and gives it a custom look. DON'T get the no slip surface. It will tear your legs up unless your wearing a wetsuit. Get the medium grip!

i dont know of any custom colors or patterns i want though, i just want an all black seat cover, fullboogie style if you will. thats why i dont know if its a waste to get one over just standard old vinyl.

Look at the Yard Sale section on the Jettrim site and you can get some great deals!

i thought 75 was decent, ive been quoted 200 before. i wouldnt mind paying 75 as long as it was done right, and i know this person, im sure he would stand behind his work if anything was to come loose.
anyone know of any good color schemes that would work with my ski? i really like all black, and i know you can mimic the M line blue white and black seat cover, but im just not into flashy stuff.
i also might paint the grab handle black. there was one guy here whose sig pic had a gp1X00r in it with a painted black grab handle, it was a picture up close of the ski and looked like it was docked. it was a very high res clean picture. anyone know who im talking about? id like to find the pic again

Look at Jettrims "yard sale" items...they have brand new GPR seat covers for $130. If they don't have what you want in there, call them...got my BLACK CARBON TOP/SILVER REAR/BLACK SIDES/KEVLAR from them for that in the fall. Local upholstery shop wanted $40 to install. Don't get the "no slip", if you like skin on your legs...I wouldn't get anything more aggressive than medium slip, and even that can be rough. I think the "carbon fiber" vinyl is just right. Standard vinyl is boring...get the real deal.

If you can rebuild your motor I'll bet you can put on a seat cover
Here is a link that HYDROTOYS posted on how to do it yourself!
http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...hlight=stapler
The only way I can find it is to use advanced search and look for STAPLER...go figure
Bill
After reading up on this...it looks like if you have to buy all the stuff to do it.....maybe having someone do it for you might be cheaper!
