I will bring this old tread back to live, how do you get the ignition right with a 06- crank in a -05 engine, can you simply just swap the triggerwheels to, or rotate the -05 triggerwheel 120 and hope the ecu still can adjust the ignition with the 7-9 being of, or what will need to be done? Thanks

Anyone notice any performance issues running like this? Or what they used to fix the 7deg* difference?

I just Installed an 11 Crank, and balancer in my 05' PTO / Mag setup, by rotating the Mag 2 holes CW last night.
I think my ECU flash has the knock sensor turned off.
Do I need to get it turned back on, or would I run into problems?

heres a pic of the old 05' crank next to the 11' crank I used. Click image for larger version.

Just wondering how well the 05' electronics are gonna work with the 11' internals

As posted earlier, putting a '11 crank in an '05 engine will retard the base ignition timing by about 7 degrees or so. Without the knock sensor, you might not have optimal performance, IMHO.

For most applications, the knock sensor can compensate for the wrong base timing. What the limits are, nobody really knows.

Well it runs, but didn't want to idle very well, then it would hunt up, and down. I was able to adjust the CMD map to fix the hunting, and idle. It runs pretty good now, ran just a little above 9,000rpms , and up to 22psi so far, but only brief runs till it gets broke in more.

Looks like I might pull it back down tho, and modify the trigger wheel to get the timing set back to 05 specs.
