Riva Ride Plate Trueing
Can someone post pics of a trued ride plate cause I tried shimming it but I just cant get it tuned properly. I have the ride plate on a GTI an every corner I go into with it the back end comes loose an I spin out, I am also running the Riva Sponsons adjusted all the way down. By truing the ride plate or you guys talking about filling the middle channel? Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks but I need to get this problem solve asap cause I have a race next month. The back end of the hull is very loose in the corners.

No trim an no wedge. The front of the hull sticks to the water, its the back end that comes loose an spins out, other words it seems like there is to much lift from the plate, right now I have a 1/4" shim between the hull an ride plate should i go more or try a smaller shim?

Ok I will try a smaller shim, what you think would be a good starting point?

make it flush .. if you lay a ruler along the bottom of the hull in the chine area.. i should be in line... the plate shouldnt fall away or push up on the ruler in the chine areas...the center in the cut out area will fall away a few degrees about 5 to 6 inches from the back of the intake grate that is why it gives speed..if you porpus..make it stay true an inche more than riva did..then blend it in to the taper as they did it will five more lift to the rear of the boat and help the bounce.....if you fill in the center section completely it will push the front in more and create drag you will loose speed...
i really dont think your turning issue is with the plate..you need more sponson...in the water maybe the riva ones arent the best choice on a gti

I am starting to think the same thing on the Sponsons. Which Sponsons do you suggest I try using?( Les Cooke's)

Take that shim out. Ride it "stock" with no shim and see how that does
