leaking coolant!
Guys, I was out this weekend just gone and whilst doing a WOT run on water like glass I hit something half submerged. The keel is cool the keel guard took all the force but seems I clipped the very back of the ride plate!
When back on the trailer I was checking the damage and there is a minimal scuff to the ride plate casting, I cleaned it up and dried her out and over the course of 96 hrs a small drop of coolant is hanging around the drain bung!
so I dried again, tweeked the bung and waited again. It looks as if the sealer has let go between the ride plate casting and the top plate that attaches with torx screws!
The leak is minimal as it takes a week to make a drop but I'm not sure what to do. The ski is sat on the trailer with the rollers on the plate so not easy to remove plus means I gotta strip the inside again to get to the pipes! which I dont really want to do as I only just rebuilt it after having the s/charger checked.
Is it safe to use rad seal or a bars leak on these systems?
ski is a 2005 rxp with moderate mods
cheers guys

Have you tried to tighten the torx screws for the time being?
Also, if it is cold over there right now, as the weather warms up the silicone will expand and might stop leaking.

You mentioned that its dripping from the drain bung correct? If so simply take if completely off and let the coolant drain and inspect the plug and threads for damage. If it all looks good clean it up real good and slap it all back together and see what happens. Im not sure what this plug looks like but you maybe able to add a little bit of thread sealer and that will help seal it up.
