How to properly anchor a Jet Ski....
What is the best way to properly anchor a Jet ski when you are at a party cove, in order to keep the skis off the sand? Lots of people beach the ski's but that messes up the bottom. I have seen several anchoring systems and even heard people using the sand bag anchor. What is your experience with this? What do you use? What do you recommend? I have a 3D DI and a GTX LTD. Please advice.

Alot of it depends on where you anchor. I have anchored in a cove and the ski did not move, but there was no real current or wave action. I have also anchored in the middle of a lake and if the ski moved I could not tell. If you are trying to anchor off a beach with waves constantly rolling in you will not be able to keep it from moving towards shore.
Oh and I use one of those small foldup anchors.

I should also add that my attempts to anchor off a beach where in the the Gulf of Mexico. A beach in a lake may yeild different results.

You need a anchor buddy. It's a stretch rope. Hook the stretch buddy to the stern. Ride to the shore and hook up a bow line. Let the stretch rope pull the ski back out. Use the bow line to pull the ski back in to retrieve it. This system works great!

I use a screw anchor. Just screw it onto the ground and your set, its lightweight and its not messy like the sand anchor.Amazon.com: Kwik Tek A-3 Screw Anchor System: Sports & Outdoors
If you can touch the bottom of the lake then you can anchor.

this thing is great in the gulf......comes in a heavy duty bag,but don't carry it if your riding big chop or getting air, it'll trash your front compartment!
