2002 virage txi purchase

I found a 2002 virage txi for 400.00 without a trialer and was wondering if it's worth it.

The owner says there is a knock in the engine. The hull, jet drive and seat are in very good condition.

I haven't look at it yet, it's a 2 1/2 hour drive and wanted any opinions anyone has to offer.

Does it start and run? If yes, then the EMM is likely to be good.

Knocking sound would suggest an engine bearing has failed, in which case you should budget for an engine rebuild.

$400 sounds like a deal, especially if the EMM module and injectors are in working condition. An EMM in working condition with matched injectors is worth at least $400.

You might get lucky and discover that it only needs a jet pump bearing or similar small problem, but plan for an engine rebuild and that will set the tone for possible costs to get it fixed.

I'm going to check it out tomorrow and will probably buy it. I'm the hoping it's something in the jet drive.

I had one a few years back that sounded like a motor but wound up being the pump extension was damaged from salt water.
