Starter Solenoid connector
I'm rebuilding another 2004 Freedom
The guy that worked on the ski before i got it replaced the solenoid with a Hitachi 12v solenoid. Which I cant find anywhere. Anyway, he cut the weatherproof connector off my wiring harness!! Any idea where i can get the connector that fits the new, stock solenoid??
I bought the stock solenoid and I dont want to rig anything however I'm curious if any 12V solenoid would work.
Thank you all for your help.

Do a search for the 2874369 'Diode Kit'. It provides exactly what you need to repair the start solenoid harness connection.
Alternative connector sources would be the wiring harness from a parted out 2000-2004 Virage, Genesis, MSX 140 or Freedom.
I don't recall off the top of my head whether there are other connectors in the 2000-2004 wiring harnesses that use the same connector shape.
Nor do I recall what connector brand/version that is, exactly.

Oh man I have been searching for that "Polaris Kit 2874369" diode kit for a while after I read it in one of your posts but no luck finding that. So pretty much the only choice is to get a used harness? Do you know if another 12V solenoid would work?
Thanks

The same solenoid and connector is used by SeaDoo on many models, and some other PWC brands as I recall.
You can use a different solenoid but it should be a Marine grade part, and rated 'explosion proof' since it is located inside the PWC hull. And it should have that internal diode.
Let me hunt around for a damaged wire harness that may have the connector you need. How quickly do you need this?
LawnmowerPros seems to list it for $15. You would have to contact them to confirm whether it is actually available.
These guys also list it;

Polaris starter solenoid
wow Thanks K447. No rush, just getting ready here in FL. I'll contact LawnmowerPros but if you know of a connector or cheap harness please let me know.
Thanks again

I have the connector body and the internal connectors in stock. You will have to build your own.. $10.00 each..
Thanks,
Randy

Can you confirm that would be Delphi Metri-Pack 150.2 connector, part number 12162193
(which Delphi lists as a 'Temperature Sensor' connector, but Polaris and other brand PWC uses for the start solenoid connector)
Connector Assembly 2F (Black body color, Green seal)
Apparently the same connector is used for connecting to GM coolant temperature sensor (ECT).
Electrical connectors - what other connectors do you carry Randy?Last edited by K447; 03-11-2011 at 12:16 PM.
