gen 1 are good up to 1600F exhaust temp
gen 2 are good up to 1900f exhaust temp
the CC racers are looking for high temp so they can run more lean to gain acceleration in the race

So the main difference is in the exhaust valves? Are the intake valves the same? So the Gen 1's should be fine with a mild SC setup with standard timing, but if your running a turbo setup, or a radical ignition timing, that will produce higher EGT's you would be a lot safer with the Gen2 valves. Or were you referring more to combustion chamber temps, than EGT's? Any idea what the temp rating is on the OEM valves for comparison? Thanks for the info boBo!

Why have they been pulled from the motor? Did you have other engine trouble?

I bought the ski to rebuild. It had a leaking Riva intercooler. Water got into one of the cylinders and sat for the summer. I decided to just part it out, as I would have had to go with oversize pistons, and I just dropped a load on some Riva pistons for my 2010 RXT-X that I am rebuilding. I hated to part it out, as it was a very nice ski. Just not worth the expense. Thanks for the kind words boBo.
Valves are pending sale.
