R3/C5/powershot Vs Motec/c5
ive got a c5 here im going to try out.
Anyone got any opinions on the performance difference of a r3 reflash & powershot up against motec.
both systems using a c5 wheel with a watson IC.
its $2000 cheaper than motec...and im thinking the performance difference is minimal.
i realize reflashes don't have the flexibility down the track. 2k goes a long way towards other bits.
anyone running this setup...?
any info appreciated.

Personally I'm a Motec man due to the tuning side , anti lag , boost control etc. For the 2k more its worth the money.
The reflashes are offering good performance for the money.

Firstly the c5 is heavy so check every 10 hours for radial and axial movement. It'll flogout the bushes and thrust plate quickly.
Everyone knows I'm motec (or atleast fully functional aftermarket ecusystem ie vipec) but ask yourself, are you serious about speed or just a plug and play kinda guy.
You should be able to make a choice from there.

ET
lighter.
I had the c5 in 2009 season but bushes gone at 12hrs. Almost lost the housing as well.
Wato should have them in stock.
What injectors do you have?

Better but hard to test back to back to C5.
Just run C5 and see how you go.

Agreed with Gunna and Coldspace.
Go 1000cc , see if you can get a custom tune from R&D to run 1000cc.
Also stock sprag and shaft = BaNg @ 18psi.
I burnt out my sprag bearing at 15.5psi on a E1 in a couple of hours...
Wait for results of new products to come out to keep the system alive, down side is, nothing last for ever. its delaying the BaNg.....
Going turbo or what ever path, everything breaks. Sad but true, that why we like to go fast!

The reason why I'm going to choose the Re-programmable ECU is because with a reflash yes you get the all you limiters raised and what not but by the time you buy gauges and a powershot to make sure everything is running properly the price is nearly the same as an aftermarket ECU. If you save up and do spend the money for an aftermarket ECU you will be able to re-programme constantly and still be able to connect it to the computer and see loads of information and be able to tune way further than a reflash. So my verdict is to go with the Vipec or motec. JMO.
