Is there a preferred landing method / angle? Anything you can do to minimize impact? I'm no stranger to jumping. I used to race motocross and have jumped 150+ feet. Thats where my screen name came from. I just got a VXR and I'm heading to the shore next week to get my wings back

I think around 45 degrees as a minimum. 55 to 60 is probably where you want to be. Similar to a bike, landing too flat jerks you forward when you land, which can make teeth kiss handlebars.

Never flat land as that's when you will start to smash engine mounts, hulls, accessories and your face as crazy has pointed out

Depends if you're landing tail first or nose first.

I always found nose stabs to be softer.
