Nose cone coming off.
What works best to seal the stock rubber nose cone to a solas impeller. The green one that came with my impller is trashed and half the threads are gone. Thanks.

Mark, i always used some Permatex Ultra Black and it did the job.
The rubber nose piece didnt last long for me though at 75-77 mph so i messed up the threads on the Solas nose cone, applied plenty of red loc tite and it is staying in place rather well.

Thanks Jerry. I tried that. We'll see if it holds up. Impros wanted $65 for a new nose cone. Holy Shit!

I just picked up two yesterday. They were $7.47 each. I use the 519 Loctite on them and haven't had a problem.

They are talking about the "Prop cone"..... the stock rubber, or green billet aluminum Solas "cone" with the hole in the middle that slides over the drive shaft and screws into the impeller. The "nose cone" with the 3 bolts is on the pump itself. Inside it are the bearings that hold the prop shaft end.

In the parts book it is called a Prop boot. It is on the front of prop and seals the drive shaft on the prop.I threw that aluminum one away and just use the stock ones have not had one of them come off yet. Couldn't keep the aluminum one on no matter what I did.
