2004 GTX SC with plastic pump?
I was working on a friends 04 GTX SC yesterday and saw that he had a plastic pump. I thought that only the 03 models had the aluminum pump?
Anyone know the scoop on this?

I think SeaDoo released the first 04`s in the summer of 03
I woluld guess that the first 04`s may have had the POS plastic pump, but I am just guessing

That is my thought too as his is an early production 04 unit.
Was there some sort of recall swapping out these junk plastic pumps for aluminum units?

That sucks!! I guess I got lucky then because I don't have the plastic and mine is an 04 that was built in Nov 03 according to the serial number.

if it's a SC ski with a plastic pump... it should have the pump support brace... does this 04 have the brace?
the ONLY service bulletin was to install this pump support brace... otherwise there's no recall to replace the pumps if there's no indication of a problem.
(any large-volume respected dealer that is half way well known by seadoo can get this pump issue worked out no problem and replaced with metal for free IF under warranty...)

It is under warranty and it does have the pump support brace.
Hopefully he can get the dealer to give him an aluminum pump under warranty.

PPG replaced mine at 20 hrs at no cost
....I had pump flex and the warped wear ring to prove it!!! Think its a case by case situation.....But if your dealer is worth a damn, they should be able to get it replaced.

I had that plastic pump in my '03 GTX SC. It just split down one side when I did the mods on it. Luckly I had a dealer that replaced it with the Aluminum one under warranty.I surely didn't think they made any '04s with that thing in it. I do have one though if anyone needs one.I'm not sure what other models it fits.
And if you do replace it with the aluminum pump there is no need to put the brace back in.

i have an 03 GTX SC with the pos plastic pump. I'm replacing the wear ring as we speak. i would flip mine but its so worn to one side i opted just to get a new one. Anyone know where and for how much i can get an OEM aluminum pump or an aftermarket one?
