I plan on riding the Suwannee river, in a week or so. I live in Madison the suwannee is about 10 mins. Away. I wouldn't mind traveling to meet at a certain boat ramp. If anyone wants to ride the river maybe we could arrange a trip

Reviving an old thread here but if anyone plans a trip to the Suwannee let me know as I live close by and have been going to this river all my life. Its truly an amazing experience and I can help you plan for the springs, caves, additional rivers, rope swings, where to buy gas etc. I know watercraft journal did a trip a couple of years ago. You can find their pics and blog post here.

My river house is on the upper Suwannee and I ride skis there several times a year. 2 weeks ago I took 6 skis and friends n family from Dowling Park down to Royal Spring and back. We ate at the Suwannee Rendezvous it was a great Saturday.

That awesome, I love that area. I cant believe I have never ate at the Suwannee Rendezvous. The wife and I our going tomorrow but we plan on putting in around the mouth of the Santa Fe. I was up your way 2 weeks ago on the jet skis. My friends and I use to do a 22 mile paddle trip once a year from white springs down to the spirit of the suwannee with sand bar camping. We did it for about 10 years before we got to old to camp lol, now we rent a cabin at Suwannee State Park. I bought a piece of property on Adams Lake/Pickett Lake in Branford last year and ride out there occasionally as well. Pics are of the lake.

Nice lake. I grew up in Ft.White and High Springs and didn't even know about that lake.

Yeah my house is at Suwannee Springs and I've been going to the music park over there for years. When the water level is up we can ride the old Seadoos to White Springs and beyond. I don't think I'll ever tire of it.

we always jumped in that spring at the end of our 22 mile canoe trips. The river gets pretty skinny up there, you definitely need high water levels to make it on skis. The furthest I have been by engine power is big shoals. It was after tropical storm debbie but the rapids were running so hard the engine didn't have enough power to get close. The river was white foam for miles, its was pretty crazy to see. I love that section of the river for paddle trips, its so much quieter and laid back. I put the sea doo's in around Ivey Memorial park or Sandy point and ride down to about Bobs River place/Rock Bluff. I have a friend who has a place on the Santa Fe just north of the Ichetucknee River that we go to but it can be little sketchy in low water levels.

I grew up in Lake City and I never knew about Pickett Lake either.
