    Very nice Bill ! BUT glass beading carbs is really a no-no. I know you are very meticulous, but I would discourage others from doing this.

    Also disc brake caliper paint seems to work on carbs very well.

    Jme I disagree Glass bead works great as long as you take the time to prep and mask like any other job. You get out what you put into it. Pardon my slowness computer is down and all I have to work with right now is my phone

    Glass beading is fine if you do the proper cleaning afterward to remove any leftover glass, which as I read it, he certainly did do. I love my blast cabinet, I use it for everything practically. You have to just be sure to clean everything afterwards, they are fantastic tools to have.

    Mikuni SBN 44 Carburetor

    Bill,

    I just finished rebuilding and cleaning my carburetor. Thanks again for making your post available, your meticulous work motivated me to finally get to mine. After reading through some of your modifications I have a few questions;

    1. What is drilling out the returns? I assume the return is just above the pulse fitting? What is the returns function and what advantage does this allow for?

    2. How do you plumb for dual fuel supply? What are its advantages?

    3. I noticed in your original post that in the absence of choke plates you put a brass plug of sort in the choke lever slot. What is that piece and where can it be found?

    I am quite inexperienced with carburetors but I am curious to learn more about their functions and perhaps in the future perform some of the mentioned modifications. Thanks again for your willingness to help me.

    Adam
