Thinking about buying these...
http://sacramento.craigslist.org/boa/1361149280.html
2004 GP1300R and a 2001 GP1200R.
I figured I'd run it by the gurus here. First of all, are these good years for these particular models? Also, what questions should I ask the seller, and what should I look for when I go check them out?
Another thing, what sort of performance difference will there be between the 1200R and the 1300R? And, the seller is at low elevation, about 60feet. I live and ride at anywhere from 2000 feet to 6000 feet of elevation. Is there anything I will have to do to the skis (particularly the carb'd 1200R) to get the performing optimally at my elevation?
Thanks in advance for any help guys!

Without knowing mods or condition I would break it down like this
2001 $3000
2004 $4000
2002 Double trailer $500
$7500 end of season prices. If all is 100% with the skis and trailer, this is the MOST I would spend. BUT the hours are very low and they are a set, so if you need/want 2 then offer $7000 and hope to meet in the middle. On the east coast I see 2000-2001 beat-up and broken skis sell for $1000 to $1500 during the winter. So if you can get one in great condition then $3000 is not bad. If you took the time you could look around and find them cheaper. But would they have low hours and be in A+ condition.......? Who knows. I would pay what you think they are worth but not $8500.
Good Luck

Thanks for the help guys!
Most of my riding is done in the 2000'-4000' range (Bullards Bar Reservoir is my main stomping grounds)... but I've been known to venture up to the Donner Lake area from time to time. I'll ride on Tahoe now and then, but looks like only the GP1300R would be allowed up there. I also have a few friends in the Tahoe/Donner area that live on smaller private lakes and we ride around on those as well, although there is not much room for opening up!

The 1300R is a low emission direct injection two stroke. Those are allowed on Tahoe.
Here is the list:

Don't know about a speed limit... I've been busted on a few lakes in the area for "speeding" and I've heard all sorts of limits from 45mph all the way up to 70mph. One Sheriff claimed he clocked me at 101mph.... LOL. I told him to call Guinness! I was on a stock RXP 215.
But going over about 60mph on Tahoe typically isn't too much fun with all the chop up there.
