08 RXT 215 Speed seem right?
So I finally got my 08 RXT on the water this past weekend for some use. It is brand new and now has 5hrs on it. Just wondering if this is normal. I realize that the speedo is not correct and forgot to bring my GPS but I hit 70mph at about 7880-7900rpms water temp 69-71 degrees. The ski is completely stock, with the excetion of the ride plate holes filled. So I checked the oil when I finished riding as the manual states and it was over the full mark. I can't believe these dealers who set these machines up don't catch these things. Anyway do you guys think there is more mph with the oil at the proper level and if so what rpms should I be running? Also how far off typically are these speedo's Thanks for the help!!!

Once the oil is right you will turn more RPMs which gets your prop spinning faster so i say yes you will get an increase.
Ski should wake up a little too as you get near that 8-12 hour mark

I figured from what I have read on here it might turn more rpms but just thought I would ask the experts. Now just need to get the gps to see how fast I am going.

I am doing 8100RPMs after adding an X Charger.[/quote]
Do you run 42's or RRFPR?
My stock RXT could only pull 64 GPS @7800 in the heat.
Now its running 68 GPS with a Riva Stage 1 minus the wedge.

depending on air and water temp, mine runs between ~7850 and 8080. Speed on GPS goes between 63 and 67. The RPM are very sensative to heat soaking. Mine is stock 2007 with 3" air intake and metal washers
