lost hole shot to a 3 seater
Need your expertise. I bought a 2005 gpr1300 about 2 months ago. It seemed really slow out of the gate but I hadn't been on a jetski in years so I had nothing to compare it to. My friend got on it today and immediately said there was something wrong with it. He has a 1200 3-seater which beat me badly out of the hole although I slowly caught up to him.
We took the seat off and the engine over the cat con was really hot esp compared to his.
Top end on my GPR is 62-64 but slow at take off. Plus you can't even do a donut.
I havent checked the compression and only mod is Im mixing oil and gas (3 ounces per gallon).
No smoke and it starts well.
What do you think.....and thank!!!

Thanks ... check it asap!
Also if I don't race or jump huge waves do I need to reinforce the pump tunnel?
And what about the intake grate. Seems as if the stock ones are dangerous causing accidents at high speed.
I'm a pleasure boater and not a racer but I do like to go fast.

Cat could go bad so maybe think about a D-plate.
Compression check takes 0.5h, so I would do it just to make sure.
62-64mph on GPS or stock speedo?

62-64 mph by way if speedo. I dont have a gps. Thought I would be a bunch faster than a 99 xl 1200.
